1. Registration Figures for Sales Booth and Market Screening     


Registration for Sales Booth and Market Screening at the Asian Film Market 2017 ended on August 18. This year, 153 companies from 24 countries have completed Sales Booth registration. As in previous years, Korean Film Council (KOFIC), European Film Promotion (EFP), Taiwan Film Institute (TFI) and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will organize and run country-based pavilions. In particular, FDCP will join the Market with increased number of Philippine companies, setting up a larger-spaced pavilion.

There are also 28 companies newly participating in the Market as exhibitors this year, including Asmik Ace (Japan), Cite Films (France), Minerva Pictures (Italy), Pegasus Motion Pictures (Hong Kong, China), Raven Banner Entertainment (Canada), and Summerside International (Netherlands). In addition, with the augmented number of companies from relevant industries such as firms dealing with E-IP (publishers and web content firms) and Virtual Reality companies, the Asian Film Market 2017 is expected to provide great business opportunities for Market participants.

Market Screening plans a total of 71 screenings of 67 films from 25 countries, submitted by 37 companies from 12 countries. Among them, 13 films are officially selected for the 22nd Busan International Film Festival and 40 films are planned to be shown as Market Premiers, released for the first time at the Asia Film Market 2017. In particular, Telefilm Canada, joining Market Screening for the first time this year, will show 6 films with a theme of “Perspective Canada”. The Screening schedule for the Asian Film Market 2017 will be posted on the official website (http://db.asianfilmmarket.org/), on September 11.
